General Dental Care

What is general dentistry?

General dentistry focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of common dental issues. Whether it’s a routine check-up, a professional cleaning, or cavity treatment, our experienced team provides personalized care to keep your smile healthy and strong.

Teeth Cleaning

Your oral health mainly depends on two factors: your willingness to brush and floss regularly your commitment to seeing your dentist every six months for an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning. Even if you are taking great care of your teeth and gums on your own, you may miss hard-to-reach areas of the mouth and can lead to dental plaque & tartar formation, which can cause tooth decay and periodantal disease later. Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal diseases.

Oral Examination

It is always recommended to consult with a dentist every six months for an oral exam to ensure continued health of your teeth and gums. Regular routine check-ups ensure your oral health and help you to find if any oral problems in early and treated conservatively.

Dental X-Rays/Dental Radiographs

Dental X-ray use controlled pulses of radiation to create images of the internal structures of the jaw and mouth. Dental X-rays helps in finding image cavities, bone or gum loss, periodontal disease, benign or malignant tumours, and other normal or abnormal structures within the lower portion of the head.

Fillings

Dental fillings replace parts of a tooth that have been damaged due to injury or decay and thus prevents further damage from cavities. Fillings can also restore the chewing surfaces of teeth that have become worn. Avoiding damage from decay or injury is preferable, but fillings are good way to prevent the eventual loss of a tooth.

Crowns

Dental crowns, also called caps, fit over worn or damaged teeth. They can also seve a cosmetic purpose, restoring a discolored tooth to its former hue. Your dentist may fit you with a temporary crown to protect a damaged tooth while the permanent crown is being made. Depending on the material used to make them, the wear they get and the care they receive, permanent crowns last about 5 to 15 years.

Bridges

Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.
